There is a place nearby that you can rent space in the indoor flea market for a week. You get a 10×10 booth. It is open Friday 4-8, Saturday 9-8 and Sunday 10-6 if you pay for 4 weeks in advance.
I want to sell fish. Goldfish are my 1st choice. I can get them wholesale in half boxes or full boxes. If they are 3-4" comets or shubunkins, that’s 125 fish in a full box or 62 fish in 1/2 box. Fantails are 2.5-3" same quantities. They also have fancy goldfish at this wholesaler. They shipped me a box of food FedEx ground top see if it would get here overnight, and it did. Makes these fish under each. Can probably sell most for .99. I have four 40 gallon breeders. I have 4 Penn Plax Cascade 1500 canister filters. That’s a 350 gph filter for a 200 gallon tank. Will these tanks support 60 fish each? Keep in mind that they will be 30 fish after the first week and mostly new fish after the 2nd week. They will be fed flake with an autofeeder 2x a day. I can get in there at 3 pm on Friday to do water changes.
I have a ton of tanks I got at an auction of a bankrupt pet store. They have been in my basement about 3 years now. I have about five 5.5 gallon tanks with incandescent hood, about 15 10 gallon tanks with incandescent hood, about 5 14 gallon (10x20x16.5) with incandescent hood, 5 15 gallon (12x24x12) with incandescent hood. I think I have 2-3 fluorescent hoods for the 10′s or 14′s too. I didn’t win any larger tanks. I will get some 20-29′s at some point. I did win a bunch of Penn Plax heaters, filters, air pumps, accessories, plants, etc. I didn’t bid on food or chemicals because I didn’t know how long I’d sit on the stuff, but I have enough to fill this booth several times. Basically I’m going to tell these people no goldies in the 5.5′s. 1 goldie in the 10. 2 goldies in the 14 or 15. I will probably get some other sub tropical fish like danios and white clouds to sell, because I will grab another two 40 breeders next Petco sale. Keeping the water 68 should be easy for a 100 watt heater? They are cheap with the AC. Probably never goes below 78 in the building May-September. They run all year. May need better heaters for winter. Have to be careful, only one outlet, 2 receptacles, 15 amp service. The bigger spaces run off 2 15 amp breakers or 1 20 amp breaker. Thanks for your input.
