Bose speakers help, 10 easy pts!?

Why do people use nonsense to hate on bose speakers? For example:

1. Saying their speakers sound terrible
Isn’t that personal preference? Can’t I say what i think sounds good and what doesn’t sound good to ME? Plus everybody’s hearing is a little different. Why spend your own money to set up what somebody else likes if your own ears don’t enjoy it? That’s stupid.
2. Saying they price freeze; has to be same price everywhere
Every single week there are several ads with them on sale…
3. The super duper expensive amp in stores to make them sound better
Well at some stores I can see the wires going directly to the speakers. Is the amp invisible? Is that why it’s so expensive?
4. Lots of money spent on marketing
Who cares? Whether they spend a trillion dollars on marketing or 75 cents on marketing, what counts is what they sound like to my ears.
5. the intellect.net website or whatever it is
The most biased website i’ve seen in a while. How do we know, by those measurements and test frequencies, that those numbers given to bose aren’t excellent? We don’t, because they are arbitrary numbers that are compared to absolutely no other speaker system. The exact opposite of scientific. Several big words and lots of paragraphs & pictures though, so i guess that’s cool.
6. Better alternatives for cheaper.
Then people point to websites like paradigm that sell ,000 sets of speakers.
7. Bose’s 2.5" speakers are way too small to sound good.
Then suggest sets from Energy that uses speakers with huge, giant, whopping 2.75" drivers.
8. Stores can have no other brand of speakers next to bose.
Oh really? Better tell a whoooooole lotta stores to start rearranging. (my attempt at sarcasm)

The list goes on, but I want to know if there are legitimate gripes other than bose-bashing myths. Because it seems like the only thing "audiophiles" can come up with is nonsense.

If you like Bose, just buy a set and enjoy them. They are good speakers. Are they the best? Probably not. If you can afford them, go for it.

Keep in mind that even the "audiophiles" as a group rarely agree with each other on anything.

Regardless of how different everyone’s hearing is or what you "think" sounds good what makes an excellent sounding speaker boils down to one thing and one thing only and that is accuracy. A well designed speaker will accurately reproduce the entire frequency range that the human ear is capable of hearing which is roughly from 20Hz-20kHz. A "perfect" frequency response for a speaker would be COMPLETELY FLAT from 20Hz-20kHz. In other words the frequency response spec would be 20Hz-20kHz +/- 0dB. It’s never been achieved and it never will be due to our laws of physics but we can get close. Most speakers deviate +/- 3dB and Bose doesn’t even come close to that or even capable of reproducing the full range of 20Hz-20kHz. The most accurate speakers(EXPENSIVE) deviate +/- 1.5dB which is an outstanding feat. Those are usually high end studio monitors. If you think Bose sounds good then you don’t know very much about accurate sound reproduction and/or have never listened to an accurate sounding system.
